Joe and Max
In this docudrama based on a true story, American boxer Joe Louis (Leonard Roberts) and German champion Max Schmeling (Til Schweiger) fight each other twice during the 1930s, each coming away with one victory. Later, Schmeling, who was unsuccessfully wooed by the Nazi party, hears of the hard times Louis has fallen on after World War II and seeks out his former sparring partner to help him. This begins a touching, long-term friendship between the former opponents.
