The Earthling
After learning that he has terminal cancer, expatriate wanderer Patrick Foley (William Holden) decides to return home to the remote Australian valley where he spent his childhood and live out his last months in solitude. En route, Foley meets Shawn (Ricky Schroder), a recently orphaned youth from the city. Rather than retreating into himself, Foley gains a new peace by teaching Shawn how to survive in the challenging landscape around them.
